Oversees and directs warehouse operations and personnel to ensure maximum profitability, increased efficiency, and reduction in waste. Manager is highly involved in the daily activities of the team, working alongside staff.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the short and long-term leadership & management of warehouse operations and staff.
Maintains profitable operations by reducing operating expenses and controlling inventory. Works to continuously improve processes by using and applying lean principals
Monitors transactions, assists in equipment decisions, maintains building facilities, and responsible for product security in the warehouse
Plans layout of warehouse: retail, shipping and receiving, rental, and storage areas.
Works with the Purchasing Manager on POs, cycle counts, resolving any discrepancies, conducts end of month reconciliations, and posts inventory invoices
Works with the Inventory Control Manager to create and implement rotation requirements for products. Maintains and analyzes data and KPI to continuously improve inventory control.
Work closely with the Marketing Director to develop an annual marketing communication strategy to promote brand, inventory, and services
Oversees Rental Division. Develops and executes an annual business plan for the
Rental Division that includes growth strategies for all revenue streams, rentals, repair and maintenance services, and aftermarket parts.
Monitors inbound/outbound logistics and all items in and out of the Shipping/Receiving department.
Operates all systems that contribute to the successful operation of the business
Oversees and/or administers forklift training,
Participates in the review, development and implementation of standard operating procedures that align with company objectives and goals
Collaborate with other departments and participates in cross-functional projects to improve business processes and efficiencies
Champions a safety-focused work environment to reduce/eliminate work-related accidents and injuries
Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, coaching and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; assessing skills; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues
Requirements:
High school degree or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3 or more years of related experience with warehouse management, inventory management, and shipping/receiving processes
Demonstrated skill as a highly organized effective leader, communicator and collaborator; passion for developing talent
Ability to work with inventory management software. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word are required
Must be able to demonstrate urgency and problem-solving skills
Mechanical skills and ability to operate manual and industrial equipment such as a pallet jacks and forklifts
Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs.
Ability to travel up to 25%
