General Equipment & Supply (GE&S) has been active this last month: bringing major projects to completion, campaigning at trade shows, and getting involved in the local community. Small businesses aren’t just about upward growth; our tree branches outward. As the summer tapers off and cooler fall temperatures set it, we are keeping our customers informed of the changes and events ongoing at GE&S.
GE&S Supports the Neighboring Community of Fountain Inn at Local Festival
On the first Saturday of October, GE&S partnered with local insurance broker Cooper Planning Group and Fountain Inn Kids Enrichment (FIKE), a Fountain Inn-based children’s educational charity, at the Fountain Inn Aunt Het Festival. GE&S donated a raffle basket to the FIKE booth; raffle tickets sold supported FIKE’s continuous fundraising efforts. Our GE&S content developer, Leah, was on-site volunteering to sell raffle tickets.
Looking to donate or get involved with FIKE? “The FIKE Center invests our time care and resources to work with at-risk students in the Fountain Inn and surrounding communities” (FIKE Center). GE&S encourages local businesses to support local initiatives like FIKE: contact FIKE to learn more about pledges and volunteering.

Project Closeout at the Vogtle Nuclear Plant in Burke County, Georgia
Located in Burke County, Georgia, the Vogtle Nuclear Plant disposition site acquired by GE&S is nearing completion. We are in the final stages of inventory management before the associated used and reconditioned items will be available for public sale through our eCommerce sites.
We are pleased with the pacing of this disposition project: work began the second week of September 2021 and was completed a day ahead of schedule on October 7, 2021; many thanks to the efforts of our GE&S driver Jeffrey.
The project started in yard NOI-25, the first of three extensive yards at the plant. NOI-25 took approximately two weeks to complete. We removed nearly 15 truckloads of equipment into our GE&S River Road Lot. NOI-25 contained a large amount of fencing and barricade materials, over 100 welding tables, along with gang boxes and conveyor rollers.
Next, we moved into the boneyard, where we purchased over 300,000 lbs. of HDPE piping. Due to the item’s popularity with our existing customers, we sold this piping before it even reached our storage lot! Along with the piping, we acquired several shipping containers, miscellaneous cable, and considerable lengths of wire rope.
Lastly, we moved into the Solar yard, where we picked up over 20 truckloads of construction materials. These materials ranged from a significant amount of cast iron pipe, farm wagons, air tanks, chillers, dump hoppers, and much more.
Follow GE&S on Facebook and LinkedIn for timely updates on new, used, and reconditioned item releases, as well as sale promotions. All items are listed at 60% of retail value.

Meet and Greet at the 2021 SEAA Trade Show in Orlando, Florida
October 13 – October 14; GE&S made an appearance at the Steel Erectors Association of America (SEAA) Trade Show. We love this opportunity to connect with local companies and reach out to new industry businesses. GE&S provides tools and equipment that support related companies and contractors at a price, and within a timeline, without competition from new manufacturing. Whether it’s in our laydown yards, warehouses, or production shop, we have the tool you’re looking for – or we know where to find it.
GE&S is an asset to your business, especially in our economy’s current manufacturing lull. Consider reconditioned tools and equipment as your logical solution to expensive price tags and long ETAs pushing out your project timelines.
Special thanks to GE&S salesman Sam Bishop for his work at this year’s SEAA tradeshow, including an acknowledgment to the other members of our trade show team: Don, Alex, Leah.
